Essay Format Examples for General and Professional Essays
Some of the Common Essay Format Examples…
Introduction
Essay format examples are not many. The formats for essays are similar to the research paper format. Though the common format for essays are the MLA formatting style, APA formatting style, Chicago style of writing, Harvard method of writing, etc. there is no rule that a student should always follow a particular format. A school student may not have a complete knowledge on the rules in these formatting styles and they do not possess the knowledge about these formats. At the school and the high school level, the teachers give a set of rules to be followed for an essay depending on the type and nature of an essay. So the rules of a particular formatting style are not followed in the school level.
Here are a few essay format examples depending on the nature and type of essay assigned to a student.
- General essay format:The format for general essays is the most common formats followed in all the levels in a school. The format for a general essay is in the order- introduction, body, and conclusion. Here the introduction contains a brief content on what the essay is going to be all about and the meaning or introduction if necessary on the essay topic. The body will be divided into paragraphs or side-headings depending on the size of the essays and the level of importance. There maybe five to six paragraphs in an essay. The conclusion is a ‘wrap-up’ to the essay. It summarizes the entire essay and provides a result if necessary.
- Professional essays:The format for professional essays has many more divisions than the general essays. The main points to the professional essays are that they are sophisticated. They must be to the point and must be written in a proper order. They should not be amateurish. The format for professional essays is the most important of all essay format examples. They are of the order- introduction, thesis statement, body, conclusion and the references. The referencing is the most important part in any professional article as they give the referencing to the content taken by the writer from the other authors. If the referencing is not given as a separate part, then the name of the author or the book should be written immediately after the content otherwise the article will be considered as a plagiarism. The introduction and conclusion will be the same as the general essays. The content will be divided into paragraphs which may contain examples, evidences, etc. depending on the types of essays.
These are the formatting examples for the two main divisions in essays. The essay format examples may vary from essay to essay.
