Introduction

There is an introduction, a main body and a conclusion for all the essays, irrespective of the type. Hence, for a comparative essay also, there must be an introduction, a body copy and a conclusion.
First, you should have a catchy topic for your essay. Writing topics is not so difficult when you know what you are talking about. The introduction must introduce the two subjects that are being compared in the essay. A few details about what and why you have chosen those topics must be mentioned in the introduction. You should also mention the significance of the comparison of the two elements, in the introduction.
The main body, as the name implies, is the main part of the essay, as here is where the comparison begins. While writing an essay about the comparison of two things, it is necessary that the basis of comparison is the same. For instance, if you are comparing a nuclear family and a joint family, the points discussed for the comparison must be the same. If you are talking about the income of a nuclear family, you should talk about the income of the joint family at the same time. While the point of distinction is “income” for a nuclear family, the point of distinction must not be “number of people” or something else for the joint family. Therefore the basis of distinction or the points of distinction must be the same for the two elements that are being compared in the essay.
Also, it is important that you pay due attention to the language being used.
